There are around 17 MSc Sericulture colleges in India, out of which 3 are private institutions and approximately 13 are government bodies. Candidates who wish to enrol into an MSc Sericulture course can choose from either of the two institutions based on factors such as location, distance, budget, placements, etc.

MSc Sericulture admission is based on both merit and entrance procedures. Candidates who wish to enrol into MSc Sericulture need to complete their graduation in BSc Sericulture or a relevant discipline with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised university. This is the minimum condition required for admission into MSc Sericulture.

Yes, you can pursue an MSc in Sericulture after a BSc in Agriculture. To be eligible for an MSc in Sericulture, you must have a BSc degree in Sericulture, Agriculture, or Horticulture. You may also need to have a minimum aggregate score of 55% from a recognized university.

For admission to MSc (Sericulture, Information Technology, Bio-Technology) programme at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, the candidate must have completed BCA /BCS /BSc in Computer Science, IT with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

Sericulture offers career opportunity in government. Research centers, silk boards, academic fields, sericulture units, agriculture sector banks etc. One can get jobs in Central Government agencies like Central Silk Board/Silk Export Promotion Council/Fao/Nabard, Krishi Vigyan Kendra etc.
