M.Sc Food Nutrition or Master of Science in Food Nutrition is a postgraduate nutrition and dietetics course. The course covers subjects such as product development, quality management as well as applied nutrition. The course focuses on the interface between human nutrition and food science, an area of increasing importance to consumers, government and the food industry. The course includes the nutritional significance of processed foods in the diet, the effects of nutrition labelling and nutrition claims, functional foods and catering technology and nutritional quality. The duration of the course is two years and its syllabus is divided into four semesters.
M.Sc Food Nutrition Eligibility:
1. B.Sc (Hons) Food & Nutrition/Dietetics/Food Science/Food Technology/B.Sc Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics with a minimum of 50% marks.
2. Some reputed colleges and institutes conduct entrance examination for admission. You can find employment in hospitals, health and recreation clubs, canteens, nursing care facilities, teach the science of nutrition and dietetics in colleges and universities, catering departments of star hotels, research labs of food manufacturers, in health departments of government, etc. They can also work as consultants or do private practice.

The UGC NET Exam does not guarantee you a job but you got a lot of options and opportunity to make a career in different field. After qualifying the NET exam, you need to get the E-certificate and check for the vacancies in the interested institutes. The candidates can choose one of the following option after qualifying the NET exam:
Become a lecturer in university and colleges. Get scholarship or stipend (JRF)
Become a junior scientist, research associate
get a job in PSUs
become a lab assistant
Apply for Administrator or counselor
work as a guide or guest faculty
teaching in any institute or coaching
These are few of the career options, that you may choose after the NET exam. You must have the deep knowledge of the subject to qualify the exam.
