For junior college teacher i.e. to teach up to 10+2 you need to have a post graduate degree and M.Ed and for lecturer (the term lecturer is used only for those teaching at graduate level) you do not need to have B.Ed or M.Ed. You need to either qualify SET or NET of UGC. SET is conducted by a state university authorised by UGC and NET by CBSE on behalf of UGC.

Research field demands more of candidates with biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, chemistry, microbiology, genetics, life sciences as specialisation. All theses fields are allied and interrelated so makes one eligible at most of R&D projects. So, choose out of them according to your interest you must be familiar with subject content of these as you have done B.Sc.

Hi Saheli, a professorship track abroad or in India could be the best , secured and highly paid. Take a Ph.D, complete your post doc and apply for professorship. Its going to be a long journey but worth it. And, if you want a non-Physcis job you will be eligible for a lot of options which could fetch you a good salary - banking, consultancy, design etc. Your career growth and prospects will purely depend on your interests and career goals.
