Yes most universities in Malta require students to provide proof of English language proficiency. This means getting minimum threshold of different language test scores such as TOEFL,  Duolingo and IELTS.

Minimum IELTS score for South Korea range between 5.5-6.5 for most universities.

University of Malta is considered best option for international students. 

University of Malta ranks #1 in Malta by Shiksha. While this is the only university in Malta which is ranked by QS Ranking 2026 at #741-750.  Institute is well recognised for its academic excellence.

Studying in Malta is quite affordable for international students. Universities like GBS Malta has tuition cost between INR 6 L - 7 L. Similarly, the tuition cost of the most chosen universities among international students is INR 9 L. The cost is low as compared to other countries.

You can attend your lectures and take the exam in English. People in Malta speak English well. So, you will not feel difficulty communicating with them. In short, if you know English well, no need to learn a new language. Just to study in Malta.
