Wildlife photography is all about capturing the wild in their own habitat. When you decide to explore into the wilderness you need not have your gear with you.
Before you start making your clicks you should first know many things. When it comes in the way of a wedding or a fashion you can expect or make the subject (models/ people) move according to your light settings but when it comes to the wildlife that's not possible. You have a time of 35 seconds within which you have some major things to do like compose your shot, check your frame, check your angle, check your settings and know the behaviour of the subject and then make a move on clicking on the subject .
Why is it necessary to know the behaviour of the subject? That is because when you know the behaviour of the bird or the animal that your clicking on it will be easy for you to capture their next move.
It is seriously not necessary for you to hire or own a big lenses like 300+ or so even an 16mm can create a wonderful wildlife image if you are sure of the settings and your confident of capturing them in a perfect manner. Wildlife is not actually capturing the animals in close but it actually just means that capturing a wild animal in its own environment/ habitat.
