Hi Adnan,
In order to pursue Bachelors in mass communication and journalism, Symbiosis is the best as it actually provides you a Bachelor degree which Xavier Institute of Mass Communication (XIMC) does not. XIMC only offers Diploma and certification courses which are not degree courses. Moreover, XIMC is known more for its post-graduate diploma and certifications.
However, St. Xavier college (The main college) provides a degree course under the name of Bachelor in Mass Media and Bachelor in Journalism very separately. Comparing it to Symbiosis, I advice you to go for Symbiosis considering all the mandatory factors.

Hi Likesh,
I do not know the course you are interested in joining at FTII. For all the courses the written test is in specific area including General Knowledge and General Mental Ability, except for screen play where written test is on screen play writing.

Mass communication is just more than a field to pursue as it gets you a wide range of options available after the completion of the degree.
In order to pursue Mass communication, you can take up the courses like:
BJMC (Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication)
B.Sc. MCAJ (Bachelors of Science in Mass communication and Journalism)
You can take up the following courses from the government and private institutes. Some of the best colleges that you can choose from are:
JIMS, IP
Trinity, IP
Maharaja Agrasen College of professional studies, IP

For photography career, none of the degree is specific for bright career it depend on your creativity skills and hold on camera but through mass communication degree, you can understand how media and advertising firms work in the market. Hi Debjani,
Preparing for entrance tests of Journalism and mass communication requires you to be much updated on the current affairs, general knowledge and language perfection. Different colleges have different level of entrance examinations for this field and particulary the good ones are harder to get such as IIMC, Symbiosis, Xaviers or Jamia for that matter.
For a Bachelor degree, you won't require a hard-on schedule or sleep less nights for the entrance as most of the colleges offering this course are private and have a smooth entrance. Colleges such as from DU and IP University have different criteria for admission as one is based
