CUET will be held twice a year, beginning next year or academic session 2023. As per the sources, the CUET exam will become a two-time opportunity for students wishing to take the exam for UG admissions to Central Universities and other universities in India.

In accordance with the Ministry's official declaration, exemptions from the CUET 2022 exam have been given to eight institutions in the Northeastern States and one central university in Uttarakhand. The State-run and private universities and colleges in Meghalaya will not be required to use the CUCET result to determine admission to UG and PG programmes. Among them are:

Mizoram University
North-Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya
