The eligibility criteria to pursue MCA is a graduation degree with mathematics as a subject in class 12th. If you had mathematics, then you can seek admission in MCA after appearing for an entrance exam.

Both MCA and MBA are equally good career options. If you are technically oriented then go for MCA. If you are not technically oriented and not good at programming then go for MBA. Long term career opportunities and salary after both post graduation degrees are similar. You can select one among them based on the reputation & placement record of the institute.

It depends on your interest, but in management field MBA has better career opportunity with large salary scale. So, I would suggest you to pursue MBA with your interested specialization like MBA finance, HR, IT, marketing, insurance, etc.

This is a common phenomenon found during campus placement where students have gap years between various educational qualifications. In case you meet all the eligibility criteria and your performance is good in selection process, then gap years are condoned by majority of recruiters.
