You can join any of the course in BE or B.Tech,But better to go with Mechanical itself as you are done Diploma in Mech

Hey Rohan,
Mechanical engg is well established in India whereas automation engg is not that much available nor in demand. It is still picking up in India. However there are universities offering automation also. Finally it depends on your interest which one you consider fine to go for. In my opinion mech will be better option as it will give you more opportunities than automation.

You can join aviation sector after short working in Indian Air Force. You as Mechanical Engineer can join Aeronautical Engineering ( Mechanical ) branch of IAF as Permanent or Short Service Commission Officer. Alternatively look for opening of Mechanical engineering advertised by Airport Authority of India.
