Yes, it is possible to do BA. The admissions are based on cut off in universities like DU and in some universities like GGSIPU, BHU etc. It is based on entrance exams.

For Mechanical engineering, placements are little bit difficult. But this is all based on the skills of the student. The MNC companies that provide placements to the core mechanical engineering are TATA, MAHINDRA, LOKESH MACHINES, L&T, HITACHI, BHARAT BENZ, etc. While many software companies also hire you if you attend the interview and succeed in it.
