To get admission in government. Polytechnic for mechanical branch u need to fill online form on DTE Maharashtra website for this procedure, you need to go nearby Polytechnic college and take form kit from them, fill the details about yourself and after that choose the colleges you want & then apply. Admission chances depends upon your % also.

Distance Diploma is a correspondence teaching distance education and you can apply in these distance Diploma colleges:
1-Venketshawra Open University
2-suresh Gyan Vihar University
3-Indian Management Academy
4-Kosmo Education

To apply for any course after engineering, you have to appear for the GATE exam. The marks obtained in GATE will give you the best colleges for M.Tech and even a good job in PSUs or the private sector.

GCET is much better than Galgotias University because GU is a newer one and people who joined GCET must have cleared UPSEE or JEE, so they must have scored good marks. The placements and all are also better here at GU.

Generally, B.Tech lateral admissions are given in relevant Diploma engineering stream. Therefore, admission in computer engineering is not relevant for you.
