Yes, MITWPU has good placements for mechanical engineering. Average salary for B.Tech this year was INR. 6.25 lacs.

KDK is good for mechanical engineering. The faculty here is good, and clears all your doubts.

In my point of view, IIT Dhanbad is better as it is an institute of national importance, whereas the BITS Pilani is no less than it, but being a government institute it will have some of its own reputation, which makes your education much worth it there. But, BITS Pilani can compete against some institutes of national importance, so think and decide wisely. All the best.

You can't get mechanical branch in IIT-Kharagpur.

It's very nice to hear from you that you are interested in doing your graduation in engineering in aeronautical engineering branch after completion of your Diploma. There are different methods adopted by different states. Some give admission based on the marks obtained in Diploma exam while others give admission based on the entrance exam for lateral admission. You need to check this for your state and follow the procedure.
