The Institute of Textile Technology, Choudwar, Cuttack, is a government-run diploma engineering or polytechnic established in 1983 to develop the textile manpower of Odissa to satisfy the huge demand for manpower in textile industries and to increase the textile technical knowledge of new youth for those growing industries.
The Institute of Textile Technology was founded in 1983 by the Department of Industries to provide only a three-year diploma in engineering in Textile Technology of Odissa. At present, it is under the Skill Development and Technical Education(SD&TE) department. Firstly, it was started to improve the manpower ability of the students and people of Odissa working in textile industries.
