Instead, you may try to do Masters in India itself. Colleges like IIIT are really good and give decent exposure. Some of my friends have completed their Masters from there. Later, you may opt for Ph.D. from foreign universities.

NIRF ranking is not everything.NIT Durgapur ranks 47 and IIEST, Shibpur ranks 30. I will suggest you to go for Shibpur if you are interested in civil engineering or else if you are interested in mechanical engineering then choose NIT Durgapur. If you are not stream biased then choose Shibpur. Why? Here are some advantages-
1. Better placement cell
2. Nearby Kolkata
3. Offers dual degree (B.Tech+M.Tech, 5 years)
If you opt out to pursue only B.Tech then you can also do that and get your B.Tech degree after 4th year.

It's true everything has a computer on it these days, but it really is becoming a lost art to understand how to take ideas and turn them into real objects that solve problems and that's exactly what MS can do.
Things like working with sheet metal, how to design parts for injection molding, what type of welding will be adequate for an assembly. It doesn't mean that you can ignore coding and electronics, the

Hello Arun,
My strong advise is not to even think of distance education program for doing engineering. Recently, it has been declared illegal by SC. You can think of doing AMIE instead.

To get into a degree course like B.Tech, you need to appear for state LEET (lateral entry test) which will make you eligible for direct second-year entry in engineering.
