You can't do regular B.Tech parallel with your job. In such cases, the only option is to do AMIE. You get information on AMIE admission on this link:

Some universities do not allow more than 5 backlogs to let you proceed to the next year. 10 backlogs is a huge number, if you don't clear your backlog as soon as possible then your degree might extend beyond 4 years which will not be good for you in the longer run. Hence, clear your backlogs as soon as possible.

Hello,
I think lateral entry into any engineering college in Maharashtra is restricted to those who have passed their diploma in Maharashtra. But perhaps window to study in Maharashtra is still open by way of admission to engineering colleges run by deemed to be university.

I think, it depends upon on your interest but as your core is mechanical. So, mechanical is the best for you because you also have knowledge of mechanical subject as you are studying in your Diploma course.

Hello Nandlal,
Lateral admissions are not one to one. A bouquet of Diploma courses are eligible for another bouquet of subjects in BE. But unfortunately each state has its own set. You will have to check on website of DTE of Tech Edu of your state for this.

You have to select that paper of GATE in which you are seeking admission. As you want to pursue M.Tech in aeronautical engineering, you will have to select this paper in GATE.

Many institutions do allow admissions to PG in engineering with even 50% marks in qualifying exam. You will have to check webpage of your intended institute to check on this.
