Hi.
As per the information I have, there are no management quota seats available for direct second year engineering lateral entry admissions of diploma students and institutes are not permitted to do the same for direct second year engineering admission. All the seats will be filled by CAP process.

If you are in Mumbai, try with Don Bosco or for Agnels. Moreover, if possible try for Manipal Institute of Technology (NRI quota) where your family can fund you. Lovely Professional University and Amity are also good options.

Diploma in mechanical engineering is a job oriented educational qualification. You can go for a job in services or manufacturing sector as a junior engineer or supervisor. If you do not have any personal constraints, you may opt for lateral entry admission in B.Tech 2nd-year. You may evaluate doing AMIE for better career prospects.
