AIR of about 28K is very good. However, admission in a particular Institute is dependent on lot of dynamics. But, I feel you have very bright chances of admission.

Hi Thanush,
You have a good score. So you can get an admission at SRM. But I think you cannot get the main campus but there are good chances on other branches.
since the exams have got over, they will reveal the ranks and cut off marks and so based on that you can decide.
I think you can get mechanical engineering seat at SRM but not at the main campus.

You can join any company in your core field or some job oriented course and you can also study mechanical engineering for further study by lateral entry.

If you want to go for the automobile industry, learn Finite element analysis course from NPTEL website & add certificate value to you.
2. Start Learning Matlab Programming & Abacus software.
3. AUTOCAD is must & you have to learn this.
4. CREO is the best software for Part-Modeling (3D).
5. ANSYS -yes this software is famous among mechanical engineers.
I don't know much about pipeline designing.Try to find a client & innvolve yourself in some projects after learning this software. Simply learning this software & finding a good salary package job without experience is hard.
