Otherwise, you can do Diploma in Mechanical Engineering but it's not a Bachelor's degree and UG course.
It's better to do B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a good college or university.
Remember good colleges and Universities always offer good placement opportunities.

Applicants are generally required to clear IELTS or TOEFL, depending on the language of instruction applicants might be required to have German language proficiency. If your overall grades are average, then you must consider taking the GRE, but it is not mandatory. Please note that admissions in Germany are very competitive and outstanding academic profiles are deemed fit.

Mechanical engineering is the father branch of automobile engineering.
Mechanical deals with the basics and core concepts that are used in almost every mechanical object but automobile deals with only subjects or courses that would help in making or studying an automobile altogether. Basics are same such as thermodynamics, strength of material, theory of machines, heat transfer, refrigeration etc
The better would be to do mechanical engineering as it would help you getting good job opportunities including jobs in automobile sector too.
