Don't keep much hopes for mechanical. I really doubt if you will get mechanical. Last year mechanical cut off was around 4500.

B.Tech is a technical course you may get a job with just B.Tech degree. However many countries have their own rule to do job in that country. For e.g. in Canada, first you should practice under some professional engineer than you have to get licence for your practice. But this is not required in all countries

Manipal University has good reputation in placement however the placement rate in master program from industry is slightly less even in IITs due to high paid salary. However in academic you will find good job even in the campus with satisfactory package.
