Hey Monish,
You have VIT, one of the best institutes in India having good placements and overall industry ranking. You can consider taking admission in VIT. I would also suggest that also look out for universities out of Chennai as their are a lot of better options available you can go for. Yu may also avail scholarship offered by VIT or some other private universities.

Hey Nithish,
Your rank doesn't really assure you of getting a seat in VIT in any of the branch. However you can wait for that but also meanwhile apply for some other best private engineering colleges. It is always beneficial to have some alternates. You can check out following universities offering quality education and excellent placement records.

With your rank, you can bag civil engineering. Mechanical engineering will be a bit difficult as it is one of the most sought after course. Civil engineering is a branch which will see major growth in coming 10 years so I would say you can consider civil engineering courses in KIIT. We have a good lab for geotechnical, structure and water resources engineering.

Hi Pratik,
Well I can't really comment on it. It's has to be your personal choice considering all the factors that can impact. If you are keen on doing this year then joine college and if you think you might get better marks next year and you will be able to get into your target college then give it a try. But the choice is yours.
All the Best.
