You should first ask this to yourself, in the first place. That, why do you want to change the stream, and what is your interest? You know your interest and aptitude better. Do you like arts, do you like creative work or you enjoy day to day administration? Similarly, you must figure out if you like Maths more, or chemistry or social studies. Decide accordingly.

Though the minimum marks vary from university to university, it should be somewhere between 55-60%. There are entrance exams as well in some of the institutes.

As you related to Science stream, so CSIR NET exam is the better option for you on the place of UGC NET exam. As per the CSIR NET exam guidelines you can apply for the exam in your post-graduation subject or related to that subject.
