A medical scribe is a person, or paraprofessional, who specializes in charting physician-patient encounters in real time, such as during medical examinations. Depending on which area of practice the scribe works in, the position may also be called clinical scribe, ER scribe. It is more of a personal assistant to the physician, performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care. I would encourage any man to enter nursing as a professional career, particularly if you enjoy interacting with people and science. I now know BMLT is a medical technology programme (this would be someone I believe who enjoys playing with science directly and is inquisitive regarding laboratory work.
