Mining Engineering is a specialized branch on offer in our country at some IITs and Indian School of Mines. One cannot find tons of colleges that offer mining engineering courses in India. It is also obvious that the number of students graduating with this course will also be less. Yes! Companies dealing in Metals/metallurgy like Coal India,Tata, Aditya Birla group etc. always look for candidates with mining engineering. You would be handpicked if you will clear ISM Dhanbad. Salaries are very good. You may also have an option abroad after few years of experience.

Mining engineering is a niche engineering discipline that involves fundamentals of metallurgy and mining science and use of technology for extracting and processing minerals from a naturally occurring environment.
