Steps to Apply for On-Campus Accommodation

Step 1:  Check out if the eligibility and selection criteria to apply for on-campus accommodation.

Step 2: Find out the available hostel options on the campus.

Step 3:  Get information on hostel rates.

Step 4: Carefully read and understand the 'terms and conditions' of the hostel.

Step 5: Register on the University Housing Management System (UHMS) Hostel Application portal

• Pay an application fee of SGD 26.75 via Amex, Master or Visa debit/credit, or eNETs
• Apply for accommodation
• Upon being accepted to stay at NUS for one academic year, pay another acceptance fee of SGD 200 to secure the spot for the second semester

Graduates Eligibility 

• Students enrolled in the full-time programmes are eligible to apply for the on-campus accommodation at NUS
• Part-time students or students who have withdrawn their admission from NUS are not eligible for hostel residence
• Students with any outstanding financial arrears or students who are on Leave of Absence (LOA) are not eligible to apply for or live on the university premises

Students with Special Needs —

NUS on-campus accommodation has the facility of special rooms designed for students with special needs. Those who need special attention due to a serious medical condition may indicate at the time of application. This would help the authorities allocate the most appropriate room available for such students.

NUS offers a variety of taught and research courses in the form of degrees programmes and other programmes, such as:

• Concurrent degree programmes

• Double-major programmes
• Double-degree programmes
• Part-time programmes

Special Undergraduate Programmes

NUS has partnered with over 300 universities spread across more than 40 countries, which allows students to be a part of the Student Exchange Programmes. Apart from the full-time bachelor’s degree programmes, the undergraduate aspirants may choose from the following list of programmes:

Courses

Through its 17 faculties, departments and schools, NUS education covers more than 2,000 modules each semester.

Applications to all the courses offered by NUS are done via online application portals of the university. Check out the steps below to see how to fill undergraduate and postgraduate applications on dedicated portals:

Undergraduate Students

International applicants need to follow these steps to apply to an undergraduate programme at NUS:

Step 1: Visit myaces.nus.edu.sg/uasonline2/catD/catDapplform.do and sign up to apply.

Step 2: Enter personal details and contact information.

Step 3: Enter details of academic qualifications.

Step 4: Enter information on university/tertiary education.

Step 5: Enter the information on all outstanding achievements.

Step 6: Insert the programme details and paste the application material in the boxes provided.

Step 7: In this step, input the following:

• Next-of-kin information
• Personal identification number
• Application fee
• Financial aid
• Other information
• Tuition grant

Step 8: Read the declaration carefully.

Step 9: Press 'Continue' to complete the appication

Graduate Students

International applicants need to follow these steps to apply to a graduate programme at NUS:

Step 1: Sign up on the university's application portal at inetapps.nus.edu.sg/gda2/Applicant.aspx/Account/SignUp.

Step 2: Click on 'Create New Application' and choose the following:

• Programme type
• Faculty
• Programme
• Department
• Specialisation (area of study)
• Source of finance
• Specify in case of 'other source of finance'
• Academic load

Step 3: Read the instructions from the faculty/department/school carefully.

Step 4: Fill up the information as stepping through the application process.

Step 5: The system will perform an application completeness check for the selected programme.

Step 6: Once the above steps are completed, fill up the declaration section.

Step 7: Click on the 'Submit' button in the declaration page to complete the submission.

Step 8: To make an online payment for the application/acceptance fee and view details of your application (e.g. application status and admission status), click 'View Application/Make Payment/Submit Reply on Offer of Admission' at the menu on the left.

Step 9: To make changes to basic programme information for an application, click 'Edit'.

Step 10: To apply to multiple programmes within the same application cycle and to change the order of preference, please click on the 'Up' and 'Down' links as required.

In that case, you should have completed or be finishing high school, that is, at least twelve years of general education by July of the application year. Applicants with Indian standard 12 Central, ISC, State, and other board qualifications should submit standard 12 exam results (or most recent high school results if they will only be completing high school after the application closing date) and a good pass in five subjects, including English. Applicants must provide original copies of their identification, high school results, secondary school results, and other material papers submitted in support of their application when they arrive in Singapore for enrolling at NUS.
