In terms of mechanical properties of fluids, pressure is the force applied per unit area of the liquids. The pressure in a fluid is given mathematically by P = F/A
Here P is pressure, A is the area, and F is the perpendicular force.
In fluids, at a given depth, pressure acts equally in all directions. The pressure of the fluid increases with depth as the weight of the fluid above also increases. In a fluid of density? under gravity g at a depth h is given by P = h? g. The pressure of the fluid is expressed in pascals (Pa) in SI units and it is measured using pressure gauges or devices like manometers.

The Conic Sections chapter is highly important for entrance exams like JEE, CUET, and NDA. Conic Section covers fundamental concepts such as parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola, along with key terms like focus, directrix, and eccentricity. Generally directly and some times application based questions are asked in JEE Main, and CUET UG.

Students must know that conic sections also form the base for advanced topics like calculus and coordinate geometry, mastering the concepts related to Circle, Parabola, Hyperbola and others are essential for both board exams and competitive success.

According to the mechanical properties of fluids class 11 notes, solids have a definite size and shape. Solids resist both shear and compressive forces. However, fluids include both gases and liquids. They do not have a fixed shape and they take up the shape of the container, in which they are poured. Fluids cannot resist the shear stress and start flowing when even a small tangential force is applied to it. The fluids flow continuously till the force is applied and the solids undergo plastic deformation under force. Mechanical properties of fluids focus more on aspects like buoyancy, viscosity, pressure, and flow behavior than the def
