The eligibility criteria of M.Des courses is depends upon the courses you wish to pursue. However most of M.Des courses of NID and NIFT like Animation and film design, Furniture and interior design, Graphic design, Product Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design etc. Can be done after the 3 years of graduation degree. So you can pursue anyone of them. However B. Des. Is recommendable here if available.

It is very vast, lots to explore, and with many opportunities. It covers many sections in professional fields. It is like a jack of all trades, master of none. You have to basically focus on aesthetics and usability of the accessories you manufacture. It is consumer-centric. Accessories include a wide range, jewelry, luxury products, digital products, personal products, automobiles, handcrafted etc.
Basically product designing.

Your B.F. Tech rank is applicable for B.F.Tech course only not for B.Des. courses. So you can not get B.Des on the basis of B.F.Tech rank. You have not write about the category you belongs, So the admission prediction is not possible. However on the basis of last year closing cutoff and if belongs to general category, your admission chances in B.F.Tech course are moderate.

ROI (Return on Investment) is a bummer. It will take at least 3 to 4 years, maybe more, to secure the tuition fee amount hence setting off the cost of pursuing education at NIFT be it on loan or otherwise. The average pay scale post NIFT for all courses hovers in the range of 4 to 5 LPA with yearly variations. The center from which you're pursuing the programme is important for it may increase or decrease the uncertainty regarding industry opportunities (risk factor). Centralized placements are a promise of equal opportunity. Not equal consideration. There is center bias in form of preference for students of top centers in the recruitm
