Yes, Nirma University accepts students from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), provided they meet the following criteria:
Pass the Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics
Pass the exam in one or two attempts, including through supplementary exams
Obtain a minimum of 33% in some subjects and 40% in others

If you miss practical exam, you won't get the passing certificate and would have to appear for the practical exams as private candidates next year.
NIOS states that If the student passes in practicals but fails in the theory of a subject, his/her practical marks will be retained and he/she can appear again ONLY in theory papers in on demand.
