No, you cannot make it to any NIT without appearing or clearing JEE Mains, you have to clear or appear in the JEE main exam.

Hi Abhiram,
Please check the previous years' opening and closing ranks of the desired branch in the desired college to get a rough idea of whether you can get admission into the college or not. Also please check this link https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor which will predict a college you might get based upon the percentiles obtained in both the exams.
All the best.

Sorry but my answer is no 86 percentile means about 6 lakhs rank in JEE Mains.
For getting admission in NITs you have to be in top 5 percentile even you have state quota of 50%. So study hard and next time get good marks.
All the best!

Hi,
Ranks keeps on changing every year and differs from one branch to another and one college to another. If you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the specific institute you may complete further admission formalities. For now, I would suggest you to first contact the institute officials of the shortlisted universities directly for specific eligibility criteria details.

Hello Jithin Sabu, From this year onwards NTA has decided to declare results based on percentile and not on raw marks. Hence it's tough to guess colleges based on your marks. However to help you I am attaching a link that will predict college for you based on your percentile. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor
Best wishes to you.
