Yes, few north eastern NITs are very good compared to their state colleges like NIT-Silchar in Assam, NIT Sikkim, etc. In NIT, you will get more better infrastructure, platform, faculty, environment compared to the state colleges.

There is very less chance to get CSE in good NIT. But, you can try for lower branch.
