To help you out I am giving a link that will predict colleges for you when you input the percentile score:
https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor
Your chances are very strong. The marks you have scored now and the marks scored by AIR 1 will decide which NITs you will get.

Hello DSN Reddy,
Firstly let me congratulate you for scoring such nicely in JEE Mains. Any percentile about 90 is definitely exceptional. I'm sure you will get the branch which you want in NIT. But I want to advise you that you must dream big. Dream of getting admission in CSC branch in IIT, Bombay. With your performance in Mains exam, I am sure if you study a little more you will make your dream come true. But dreaming big is a must as then only you can achieve great laurels in life. Hi Sunil,
As you have scored 231000 rank in JEE Mains, so you can't get any government colleges with this score. I will suggest you to go for private colleges. Best of luck.

It depends from college to college. Some nits have annual fees of INR. 1.5lakh and some are little bit lower around INR. 1.2 lpa. But, fees of IITs are around INR. 1.6 lpa or above. So, IITs are more costly. But, who cares for that cost, which is making your life better in future. Also, people get various types of scholarships, so fees are no longer a burden to them. Best of luck.

With INR. 1 lakh rank, it's not possible to get admission in CS or IT in NITs. If your son wants to pursue only CS, it is better to go with some private institutes which accept JEE Score.

For your kind information, there is a fee remission rule for students with annual parental income less than INR. 5 lacs. And, full fee refund for income less than INR. 1 lac. So, you can pay fee either by any other personal help or by bank loan, then you can apply for remission.
