You have a very low chance of getting admission into NITs due to your rank. I would recommend you check out other institutions like UPTU etc. Depending on your state and look towards securing an admission there.

Look, no one can tell you that what is and what not is better for you. You are the only person who knows yourself better than any one. So, I suggest you to choose or look for that branch only in which you have interest. You must have an aim to achieve it so according to it only choose the suitable for yourself. Also, use the given link in predicting the college on the basis of your rank:

Yes, sure! Why not!
If you can qualify JEE Advanced, then I am sure that you will definitely get a NIT. But be sure to score more than cut-off marks. Have self confidence and focus, just concentrate on your studies and don't waste the time.
Best of luck.

There is no such process. If you want to make a career in CSE only then you must opt for B.Tech in CSE. But in post-graduation, if you want to pursue M.Tech in CSE then you have to appear for GATE so that you can get a seat in IIT, IIIT, etc.
Best of luck.

Since you failed to qualify in general category as the cut-off was 74, therefore, you will not be able to get any college like NIT, IIT, IIIT, etc.
You can prefer any state level entrance exam which can lead to government colleges if you score very good marks. Not just cut-off marks. You can also go for private colleges like Manipal University, SRM, Chennai, VIT, KIIT, etc. These are the very good colleges. Choose according to your concern.
Best of luck.
