You cannot get a CSE branch at this rank at NIT. But if you will be a home state member then based on your SC category rank of 14900 in JEE Mains, here are some NITs where you might have a chance of getting admission in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch:
- NIT Meghalaya: Home state cutoff - 42574
- NIT Sikkim: Home state cutoff - 70646
- NIT Mizoram: Home state cutoff - 48294

Yes, you must apply for JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling if you wish to gain admission to the participating schools (IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs) and you have qualified for JEE Advanced 2024 or JEE Main 2024. For all participating institutions, JoSAA is in charge of the centralised counselling and seat allocation procedure, which is dependent on the candidates' ranks in either JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2024. JoSAA is used for the whole admissions process, which includes seat assignment, acceptance, and reporting to the designated institute.

Yes, you can get into NITs with a 90 percentile in JEE Mains. For the OBC NCL category, a percentile of 90 is considered good enough to secure admission in NITs. The cutoff for NITs varies by category, but generally, candidates with a percentile between 85 to 95 can get admission to NITs.

You can get With a Common Rank List (CRL) rank of 4.9 Lacs and an EWS category rank of 72,000 in JEE Mains, admission to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs chance is less. These colleges generally have much higher cutoffs. However, you can check some other state engineering colleges or private colleges, which might have lower cutoff ranks. you should check individual college cutoffs and consider state quota advantages if available and go through it.

You can get With an 86 percentile in JEE Main, you have a chance of securing admission to some National Institutes of Technology (NITs) through the Home State (HS) quota. Potential options include NIT Agartala, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Raipur, NIT Jalandhar, and NIT Goa. Some branches may include Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Engineering, and others. In 2024, the DASA brochure will be released by the host, NIT Raipur. In order to admit qualified applicants to the BTech and BArch programs offered by NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other top-tier, centrally financed technical universities in India, the DASA UG 2024 plan is implemented. JEE Main Cutoff 2024 for the general category is 93.23, for EWS is 81.32, for SC is 60.09, for ST is 46.69, and for OBC is 79.67. The admission is granted to 26 IIITs, 32 NITs, and 33 GFITs based on JEE Main Cutoff.With your rank you will not get the admissions in top branches in NITs. To get top branches your rank should be in the range of below 35,000. Still you can give a try with the branches Bio Technology or Mining Engineering.
