Many a times getting admission in a particular college is a question of how many other students have applied. Your rank is tantalizingly near to the possibility of admission. There is a possibility that you may get admission in some NIT.

But if you belong to SC/ST, you will easily get the top ones and I don't think your rank will be 12000. It will be more as 12 lakhs candidates have written and many can score above 250, your rank will go a little higher.

NITs are better in terms of fee and education but not better than BITS. NIT is a government college.

For CSE in the top NITs, you need a minimum of 240 in JEE Mains.

NITs don't consider your 10th marks, and from this year, 12th marks also are not considered for ranking.
