Oracle Database comes with four certification levels. These progressively validate your knowledge and skills in advancing Database Administrator roles. 

1. Associate: This is the entry-level certification. It validates your, typically the Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, demonstrates a foundational understanding of SQL, the core language used to interact with relational databases.

2. Professional: The Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional certification validates your competency in administering Oracle Database systems. It involves passing two exams assessing your knowledge of core database management tasks, working with Oracle Grid Infrastructure to manage multiple databases, and utilising Recovery Manager (RMAN) for data backups and recovery.

3. Master: The Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Master signifies expertise beyond the Professional level. To achieve this advanced certification, you'll need to hold the Professional certification and complete additional specialised courses offered through the Oracle Database Learning Subscription. This signifies your ability to handle complex database administration challenges.

4. Specialist: While the other levels focus on general database administration, the Specialist track offers targeted certifications like the Oracle SOA Suite 12c Certified Implementation Specialist. This validates your skills in specific areas, such as installing and configuring databases using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Express.

The Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional (Professional level) focuses on foundational knowledge and core tasks. You can prepare for this exam independently using study materials and practice tests. But, the Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Master (Master level) requires more understanding with specialised skills. To achieve this level, you'll need to not only pass the Professional exam but also complete additional training through the Oracle Database Learning Subscription. This subscription provides access to in-depth courses and resources that make you handle more complex database administration scenarios.
