Nano technology do have future scope. There are newer technologies in medical imagining based on nanotechnology. Petroleum as we all know is a non-renewable resource, but still there are many parts of world known to have oil reserves, which are still unexplored.

Petroleum engineering is a professional degree, where as hotel management is not. If you don't want to worry about studying then choose hotel management. Hotel management is mostly practical based. You can just enjoy doing it. In the present scenario where crude prices are low and many have lost their jobs because of this, its better stay out of it. One more thing, its really unethical to compare these two courses as they are like two different poles. First, be clear whether to do engineering or normal degree.
