Once you appear for the national level exam i.e. JEE mains, then only you will get admissions into a good college for petroleum engineering. Whereas, job and salary totally depends on your skills after you graduate.
Top colleges for this course are:
1. UTM – Shillong.
2. Thapar University – Patiala.
3. PEC – Chandigarh.
4. DTU – Delhi.

Hello, For appearing in JEE Mains, you must score at leas 75% in HSSC. A good score in JEE will fetch you admission in a good college. These days, there are plenty of institutions offering this course and getting admission is not a problem.

If you want to pursue petroleum engineering without JEE, then you can give state exams conducted by various institutes offering this course. For e.g. UPES university has separate exam for admission into the engineering courses. You can give this exam and get admission into petroleum engineering.
