Either you want to be a pure chemistry or want to be a cosmetic chemist, you have options to pursue and to choose, you may study in B.Sc. Cosmetic Formulation/Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical engineering, Biochemistry or even Biology/Microbiology. It is preferable to have a B.Sc in Cosmetic formulation, which has a direct course on product development, quality control and regulations. The other degrees offer a good base Science so you can later become a specialist with a Master in Cosmetic Science or by means of employment in the industry. A Pharmacy graduate typically dispenses medications and counsels patients in a retail or hospital pharmacy environment.
A clinical pharmacist, however, is working closely with doctors on optimally collating medication therapy in hospital or clinical settings.
A pharmaceutical chemist is more laboratory based, engaged in the formulation testing and development of drugs.
All three professionals are engaged in a unique role in the pharma ecosystem, however there are significant differences in role based on context, qualifications and specialisation.

D Pharma graduates are eligible to apply for government pharmacist jobs. Government pharmacist jobs in hospitals, railways, defence and public health departments require D Pharma graduates to pass an examination conducted by the recruiting agency which may be either state or central government. A registered pharmacist in the State Pharmacy Council is needed to apply.

Yes, D Pharma is an accepted qualification to become a registered pharmacist in India.
After you complete your course, you have to register with the respective State Pharmacy Council. Once registered, you are legally allowed to work as a pharmacist in retail, hospital, or community pharmacies.

Yes, students who wish to become a Pharmacist can do so after completing the DPharma course offered by Shri Guru Ram Rai University. This is because the basic eligibility criteria for entry-level pharmacy jobs state that students who have completed an UG degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institute are eligible to apply for the aforementioned job title.
As per the official website of the university, the DPharma course is approved by PCI. Moreover, some institutes, such as AIIMS, require candidates who also have some experience in dispensing or storing drugs in a hospital, drugstore, or pharmaceutical concern.

Yes, after completing the BPharma offered by Takshashila University, students can become Pharmacists. The basic eligibility criteria for entry-level pharmacy jobs state that candidates who have obtained an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from a PCI-recognised institute are eligible to apply for vacancies under the name Pharmacist.
As per the official website of Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology, the BPharma course is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India. Moreover, as per sources collated from the web, some institutes, such as AIIMS, require candidates who also have some experience in dispensing or storing drugs

The DSSSB released the exam schedule on the official website for TGT, Pharmacist and various other posts. As per the schedule released, the DSSSB 2025 Pharmacist (homeopathy) exam was conducted on June 23, June 25, and July 9, 2025.
