Pharmacist

There are lot of scopes. I am going to talk about the paths commonly opted by students:
Getting a job directly after B. Pharma: Graduates who do not wish to pursue post graduate studies or plan on doing them later try to get jobs after B.Pharma. Jobs are usually offered in the field of sales and marketing. Some also work as pharmacists in hospitals whereas some are able to secure jobs at manufacturing facilities of pharmaceutical companies. Some also set up their own pharmacy. MBA after B. Pharma: Some students pursue MBA after B.Pharma whereas some pursue it after gaining a few years' experience (usually in sales and marketing). Depending upon your talent, qualifications, and how good your MBA school is, students are offered jobs in higher management of pharmaceutical companies. Pharma MBA is also offered by some colleges in India.M.Pharma after B. Pharma: Students interested in academia and R&D take up M.Pharma. M.Pharma can be done in many fields like pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, clinical pharmacology, pharmacognosy, biotechnology, etc. M.Pharma graduates either join the industry as scientists or as lecturers in universities. Some M.Pharma students pursue a Ph.D. which is required to become a professor in good Indian universities. A lot of Ph.D. holders also join the industry. (There is a difference between a lecturer and a professor)
MS/PhD after B. Pharma: Motivated students who pursue undergraduate research and gain experience via internships along with good scores in college can apply for MS or even direct Ph.D. programs abroad. GRE and TOEFL/IELTS may be required depending upon the country and university. The competition is usually very cutthroat as you are competing with applicants from all over the world.LLB after B. Pharma: This is a very uncommon route. Some B.Pharma graduates pursue LL.B and become lawyers. They usually later specialize in pharmaceutical jurisprudence, intellectual property law, patents, etc. Hope this helps.

Opportunities are not available within a degree, it is within the one, who has that degree. Both are equally good with ample of opportunities. So, you can do M.Pharm or MBA as per your interest. Master in pharmacy is divided in various different fields. M.Pharm in pharmaceutics is most valuable in India, whereas, in the US and other foreign countries, pharmacology is well established. Pharmaceutics is a unique subject deals with all F&D, production, etc. So, the scope is clear. A person with pharmacology can enter in preclinical and clinical studies. Herbal Drug industry is booming in India and other parts. So pharmacognosy is bigger aspect now. The demand for herbal drugs is elevated due to the less side effects. Himalaya, Zandu, Dabur and so many are standing in the squad and looking for such a person. Recent market shows that M.Pharm with chemistry is less absorbed in the industry than B.Sc Chemistry because in pharma chem., we are more concentrating on SAR of the drug molecules. Pharma-analysis is another important line where one can go for QA, QC, etc., and other fields like biotech and microbiology have less chance in it. It is unique, so you can also go for it. If you are very good in management and have leadership quality just do an MBA. You can go for MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management.
