CSE branch is best from overall branches of BIT Mesra. Although study is not that good but more than satisfactory you can say. People get good placements, those who are from CSE branch. If you are looking from placement point of view, then CSE in BIT is better than other colleges.

Yes, you are eligible to appear in CTET 2016 examination being a B.Ed 1st year student. Candidates who have completed Graduation with an aggregate of at least 50% marks from a recognised university and passed or appearing in first year Bachelor in Education.

It is a good choice, if you want to do some additional courses to excel with your academics. You can check IGNOU website there you find a number of courses. You can also go Astro physics-related diplomas or training if you have interest in that field. MOOCS are a very good option for your concern and also trending.
