Airline and commercial pilots are trained to operate aerial vehicles in order to perform duties like transporting supplies and passengers.
Although this career may appeal to adventurous souls, there is also a high level of stress and responsibility involved in commanding aircraft under different weather conditions and in various difficult situations. Typically, two pilots are required in most aircraft, and the most experienced pilot is considered the captain. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported the median salary for all airline pilots, co-pilots, and flight engineers in May 2015, was INR. 117,290.
Here are the steps you can take to become a pilot:

Before you begin, you must ensure you have passed class 12th with at least 55% marks in Maths and physics individually. This is mandatory.
If you graduated with any degree, it isn't a problem, the method is still the same, as long as you meet the previous criteria.
You must pass English tests too or a TOEFL certificate will do. You must have an Indian citizenship. Now, let us begin.
1. During the first four months of class 12th, you have to apply for a DGCA class 2 medical certificate. Just visit Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India's website and they have a long list of doctors who are certified to issue that certificate. It usually takes a few months for the certificate to be issued, so you must apply for it well ahead.
2. After you are with class 2, you will get your PMR number. Go to the DGCA website again and download the form for class 1. Fill it, enter the PMR and fix the appointment.

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a qualification that allows you to act as a Pilot in Command or PIC of a single pilot aircraft or as co-pilot of a multi-pilot aircraft. The basic requirements to obtain the CPL license are published by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). However, the actual courses in flight training programs vary from country to country, based on the National Aviation Authorities (NAA). The educational qualification is 10+2 or equivalent with 55% marks in Physics and maths individually for General Category candidates and 50% marks individually in Physics and Maths for SC/ST/OBC candidates. All candidates must have passed English at 10+2 level as one of the subjects. Candidates should appear for Written Entrance Examination and Pilot Aptitude Test, followed by the final selection by an interview board comprising of representatives from industry bigwigs like NACIL, DGCA, Psychologist and IGRUA examiners. Although candidates with less than 17 years may be permitted to undergo selection process must not be less than 17 years before joining the course. Many institute offer courses in Aviation for Commercial Pilot Training such as Commercial Pilot License (Certificate IV in Aviation), Diploma in Aviation, B.Sc in Aviation, etc. The admission procedure and fee structure vary from institute to institute. So, I would advise you to contact college in which you want to take admission.

The basic eligibility criteria is that the graduate must have completed 10+2 science stream schooling with physics and mathematics as the main subjects. The minimum aggregate marks in the 12th board examination should be 50%. The minimum marks criteria may differ from one institute to another.
The graduate could have completed any 3 or 4 years long professional course from a recognized university. He/she won't be eligible to become a commercial pilot without science stream (mathematics group) schooling.
Selection Process:
To become a commercial pilot, graduates must undergo flying training. Flying schools are where one will be able to get this training. Flying training is not cheap. The selection process is also not that easy.
The first step would be to approach a flying school and apply for selection. If you satisfy the basic eligibility criteria which is 12th science schooling with mathematics group, you will be asked to go through the next stage of the selection process.
A pilot aptitude test of the graduates will be held at the flying school. The selection test can be said to be made up of three stages- written test, interview and pilot aptitude test.
The written test is like a screening test. This test covers topics like general knowledge, current affairs, geography, science subjects (Physics and Mathematics), reasoning and English. The questions asked will be of the 12th standard level.
The written test is followed by an interview. It will be like a personal interview. The interviewer may ask technical questions, personal questions etc. Those who manage to clear written test and interview have to appear for the pilot aptitude test.
The pilot aptitude test is conducted to gauge the flying aptitude and ability of the graduates. When it comes to CPL training, DGCA wants only candidates with good flying potential and ability to undergo the training. That's why this test gives much important these days.
If a graduate manages to pass the above-mentioned stages, he/she can be said to have dealt with 75% of the selection process. These successful candidates will then be subjected to thorough physical and medical tests. The physical and mental health of the candidate will be checked.
