SBM Polytechnic is a Gujrathi speaking Linguistic Minority institution. As per the rules 50 % of the intake are reserved( minimum ) for the candidate belonging to Gujrathi speaking Linguistic community. Remaining 50% are available for the non Gujarathi ie General category candidates.

Both the courses are different and have different pros and cons. The Polytechnic courses started to provide employment at the age of 18. Initially, students who wanted to start earning early to support the family used to opt for these courses. But this trend has changed over the years. Regards.

After completing your mechanical Diploma in engineering you may directly apply for lateral entry for B.Tech and BE. You may directly get admission in 2nd year of engineering.
