Hi,
The webpage of Sophia Shree B.K Somani Polytechnic is silent about fees charged for the various courses. It would be recommendable to get in touch with the college officials for the detailed information on the fee structure.
Regards

Hi,
80% seats are filled through centralized admission process (CAP) conducted by DTE based on the rank obtained in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET)/JEE Mains.
Remaining seats are filled by the institute on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2.

Not possible. You will be allocated the branch based on the course you pursue in the polytechnic college. So you need to study in the same branch which you studied in during your polytechnic life.

Of course, going for polytechnic is good if you want to be technically strong than those who are joining engineering after 12th. After joining poly you will be technically sound already as conpared to fresher students coming from 12th. Those who are coming by doing 12th will lack knowledge as compared to you. The 2nd important thing is you will not have to go for entrance exam while applying for engineering. Sometimes, it is problematic to score in entrance and get good college. So, you will be on safer side if you go for Polytechnic. If you want to apply for college like NIT and IIT then you have to for 12th and entrance exam which is

When you are done with X/10th, you can join Polytechnic which is a three year course. This is called diploma and is equivalent to 12th. When you take admission in B.Tech after this, you get into 2nd year because the first year is exempted for Lateral Entry/Diploma Holders. You do the degree in continuation of the Diploma Stream. It becomes a three-year course then.

If you are focusing only on engineering then I would recommend you to go for polytechnic first. The reason behind going for polytechnic is that you will be exempted from the entrance exam. Even you will not have to pay heavy fees for tuition. The second plus point is that you will be much more technically stronger than other students who will get into engineering after 12th.
