Yes, it is possible to pursue a Diploma after completing a BTech degree now; it's typically referred to as a postgraduate Diploma or a specialised Diploma. Some institutions offer a lateral entry option into the Diploma programme for BTech graduates, allowing them to gain more specialised knowledge or skill in a particular field.

You can apply for lateral entry (direct second-year admission in engineering) only after completing your polytechnic/diploma course. So, if you're still in your 3rd year, wait until you get your Diploma in hand to be eligible.

Here are the official 2025 exam dates for the UP Polytechnic (JEECUP) entrance:

Registration starts from January 15 to May 20, 2025. The Computer Based Test was held between June 5– 13 June 2025. Answer key and objection window were June 13–15.

Result was declared around June 21 ~23, and counselling began in early July 2025 .
