For counseling adolescents, the counsellor should have Master degree in Social Science or Psychology and at least two year experience in adolescent health programme. Be genuinely open to adolescents' questions or need for information. Do not use judgmental words or body language. Do not talk down to adolescents by scolding, shouting, blaming, or getting angry. Use words and language that adolescents can understand and that are appropriate to their age and developmental stage. After completing Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Sociology, Education, Social Work, or in a similar filed/ Bachelor degree in Medical Science, Nursing, Allied Medical Science, or in a similar field, you can pursue a Post-Graduate Diploma or similar course in Counselling/ Mental Health/ Career counselling.

B.Sc. (Hons. ). In Psychology is a 3-year undergraduate programme in the domain of scientific studies with a specialisation in the study of mind, behavior, and psyche of the human. The minimum eligibility criteria which most of the institutes ask for is a score of at least 55% (relaxed for reserved category candidates) at 10+2 or equivalent level. B.Sc. In Psychology will focus more on the Science and Maths aspects and factors. There are more lab work and Statistics than what is taught in B.A. Psychology. The course involves plenty of concentration and practical work to understand the theory aspect of what is covered. There is field exposure, experimental learning and giving students a clear view of what the industry requires. On doing a B.Sc. Psychology, you can get jobs at hospitals, clinics, government and business organizations. To better understand the field through a science perspective, students generally pursue their further studies to specialize in a field. Also, students from a science background can benefit from the extensive study in Biological Science and Research Methodology.
