Universities and immigration bodies will consider your best overall score from a single sitting that meets all their specific criteria (including sectional cut-offs).
You can choose to share only your best scores if you have taken multiple attempts of the PTE esam. Your university or visa offices cannot view the scores from your other attempts (except from the ones that you share).

The PTE (Pearson Test of English) score is reported on a scale of 10 to 90, with 90 being the highest possible score. Instead of traditional "bands" like IELTS, PTE uses this single numerical scale to represent your overall English proficiency and your performance in each of the four communicative skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing.
However, to understand different levels of proficiency, the PTE score is often interpreted within certain ranges that correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels:
Here's a common interpretation of PTE scores in relation to proficiency levels:
PTE Score | CEFR Level | English Proficiency Level |
---|---|---|
85-90 | C2 | Expert |
76-84 | C1 | Advanced |
59-75 | B2 | Upper-Intermediate |
43-58 | B1 | Intermediate |
30-42 | A2 | Elementary |
10-29 | A1 | Beginner |

An average PTE score is neither too high nor low in the PTE score calculator. As mentioned earlier, every university would have a required PTE score, and candidates are expected to achieve the same or a higher value to be eligible for admission to the university. Candidates are advised to aim for a higher-than-average PTE score as this will not only increase their chances of admission to the university but also make them a frontrunner for any scholarships the university may provide.

The PTE score remains valid for a period of 2 years after which you will be required to take another PTE exam. During these two years, one can share their PTE score report with as many universities as they want.
