For B.Tech/BE in robotics, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with Science subjects such as biology, maths and chemistry. For admission into IIT colleges, it is compulsory to attain high grades in the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE). Other entrances that you can opt for are BITSAT, All India Engineering Entrance Exams, and SRM Engineering Entrance Examination (SRM EEE).
These are the colleges where you can apply for excellence in robotics:
Anna University, Chennai
Faculty of Engineering and Technology
Jadavpur University, Kolkata
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra
Asia Pacific

Till date, AICTE and UGC didn't frame strong policy on engineering programme through distance mode or correspondence. So, keeping the safer side, you should go for regular mode for and even for complete knowledge, skills and practical work that you would miss in distance mode.
All the best
