Generally, it is ideal that candidates must begin their preparation about a year to 6 months before the exam. For RRB NTPC exam preparation, candidates should practice mock tests and solve previous years' question papers to understand the syllabus, exam pattern and difficulty level of the exam. Candidates must learn, understand and clear their concepts by referring to good books. They should focus more on revision and clearing the concepts.

Yes, there is a negative marking in the RRB NTPC exam. In the RRB NTPC exam, There are a total of 100 questions in the first stage of CBT and 120 questions in the second stage of CBT. CBT 1 carries 100 marks, while CBT 2 consists of 200 marks. RRB NTPC scores are calculated based on the marking scheme prescribed by the examination authority. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark. There is a negative marking for wrong answers, 1/3 marks are deducted for incorrect answers.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe can only avail themselves of ‘Free Travel Authority’ (free Railway Pass). So, for the SC/ST candidates who opted for a free rail travel facility, the RRB NTPC call letter for CBT, CBAT/TST, and DV contains information regarding the free travel authority. To avail of the travel pass, candidates need to provide proper documents to the examination authority.

The zone-wise links to download the admit card are made available on the respective official websites of RRBs. Usually, the admit card is released four days before the exam. To download the admit card, candidates need to log in with a user ID and password. The admit card is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam.

If candidates wish to modify, change or correct any details except details filled in the 'Create an Account' form (including email id and mobile number) and chosen RRB, they may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion.

RRB NTPC Qualification (Educational)- Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential. Degree from recognized university or equivalent. RRB NTPC 2024 application form for graduate posts was released on September 14, 2024, for 8113 vacancies. The last date to complete the RRB NTPC 2024 exam application form is October 13, 2024. The fee payment after the closure of the application form can be done from October 14 to 15, 2024. The RRB Exams are conducted every year and at most times within days of each other. To prepare for the RRB NTPC exam you should at first Familiarize yourself with the exam structure then gather relevant study material including textbooks, NCERT books, previous year question papers, and mock test series. You need to develop a structured study plan and plan things accordingly. Do solve as many practice questions and mock tests as possible. Then, you should analyze your performance. Most importantly, do time management. Develop strategies to avoid wasting time. Do keep yourself updated with the latest exam related announcements and changes. Stay hydrated and you are good to go!

There will be two stage CBTs for RRB NTPC undergraduate posts followed by Computer based Typing Skill Test (TST) wherever applicable. Typing Skill Test for Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist. Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Trains Clerk there shall be two stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination. RRB wise short listing of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT is done at the rate

There are two stage Computer Based Test (CBTs) followed by Computer based Aptitude Test (CBAT)/ Typing Skill Test (TST) wherever applicable. The Computer-based Aptitude Test for Station Master and the Typing Skill Test are held for Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist. For Goods Train Manager, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, there are only two stage CBTs followed by document verification and medical examination.

This facility is available only to SC/ST candidates. While filling up online RRB NTPC application form, such candidates, should choose 'Yes' from the drop down under 'Do you wish to avail free rail travel pass for the exam and fill up 'Nearest Railway Station'. It is the responsibility of the candidates availing free travel authority to give the correct name of the Railway Station in online application, failing which their travel authority may get rejected while obtaining reservation. They are also required to upload their Caste Certificate.
