The RRB NTPC exam tests your knowledge in Mathematics as part of the CBT 1 stage. 

• Number System: This covers topics like natural numbers, whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, LCM (Least Common Multiple), HCF (the highest Common Factor), decimal representation, and basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Fractions: Simple, compound, and mixed fractions.
• Ratio and Proportion: Understanding concepts of ratio and proportion, direct and indirect proportion, applications of ratio and proportion in solving problems.
• Percentage: Calculating percentages, converting fractions into percentages and vice versa, applications of percentages.
• Mensuration: Area, perimeter, and volume calculations for basic 2D and 3D shapes like squares, rectangles, circles, cylinders, cones, and spheres.
• Algebra: Basic algebraic operations, solving linear equations with one or two variables, quadratic equations.
• Geometry: Lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, their properties, theorems related to them.
• Trigonometry: Basic trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, tangent), their applications in solving simple problems.
• Elementary Statistics: Measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), basic concepts of probability.
• Time and Work: Concepts of speed, distance, time, and work, related problems.
• Simple and Compound Interest: Calculating simple and compound interest for a given principal, rate, and time.
• Profit and Loss: Concepts of cost price (CP), selling price (SP), profit, and loss, problems based on these concepts.

Salaries at RRB NTPC vary depending on the role. Undergraduate positions have an initial base pay that varies from INR 19,900 to INR 21,700. For graduate positions, the RRB NTPC pays between INR 25,500 and INR 35,400. A commercial ticket clerk at RRB NTPC makes INR 21,700 per month. The monthly wage range for RRB NTPC posts for undergraduate candidates is between Rs. 19,900 and Rs. 21,700. However, the monthly compensation range for those who have completed their studies is between Rs. 25,500 and Rs. 35,400. Junior Clerk/typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, and Accounts Clerk/typist are the undergraduate positions. Pay Level 4 is a wage scale structure that commences at Rs 25,500 and concludes at Rs 81,100.

RRB Group D is the entry-level job in the Indian railway while RRB NTPC comes under the category of group C jobs, which are next to Group D posts. For RRB Group D posts, the educational qualification required is a Class 10th pass. For RRB NTPC undergraduate posts, candidates must have passed Class 12th.
