Digital Marketing for web professional is an excellent career growth opportunity with which they can increase their earning potential. Digital marketing is an umbrella term for the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium. Digital marketing differs from traditional marketing in that it involves the use of channels and methods that enable an organization to analyze marketing campaigns and understand what is working and what is not in real time. Digital marketers monitor things like what is being viewed, how often and for how long, sales conversions, what content works and doesn't work, etc. While the Internet is, perhaps, the channel most closely associated with digital marketing, others include wireless text messaging, mobile instant messaging, mobile apps, podcasts, electronic billboards, digital television and radio channels, etc. It is an excellent career choice with good salaries. Studying from a top college does gives you a benefit of grabbing the best placements. But eventually, you have to have the capability and skills to sustain that level of job in a progressive way. I have seen many good MBA aspirants from good institutes (not the top ones) - started with a mediocre job but gone up very high in career with their skills and capabilities. On the other hand, I know a few IIM MBA aspirants - although got their first job very lucrative but could not stabilize and had to come down to little lower level.
So it is all in you. Go for IIM - to get good opportunities as a fresher but improve your skills and confidence level to grow even higher.
