Eng plus MBA is a good combination. Its perfectly fine if he want to do it.

If you don't like coding, MBA is a good option for you.
You have IT background, so it will help you to get a good job because some IT firms have direct sales and marketing department. For this field, you will be the best match if you do MBA in marketing. They provide good incentives also on the basis of the target.

Its better to go for MBA in retail or marketing then doing some course and then MBA. MBA is a good course.
